Jessica Tells Her Wedding Flowers Story…

Dear Grower’s Box,

I would like to say thanks to your company for all the wonderful service I received while working with you. I ordered 400 long stem red roses and 5,000 rose petals for my wedding. I was very skeptical about ordering my wedding flowers from an online vendor. I tracked The Grower’s Box for a year making sure you were a reputable company, and I was very happy to see that you are.

The Wednesday before my wedding, at 10:00 in the morning, I received 3 boxes of flowers and I opened them up quickly, because I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the flowers were beautiful. We took the leaves off and placed them in buckets. As the day went on, the flowers began to open up even more, and by Friday (the day we put the arrangements together) they were beautiful, and by Saturday they had opened up so much they looked like they came from a local florist.

I got so many compliments on the flowers from my guests. I told each one of them about The Grower’s Box and I told them I would recommend you 100% for any and all events. For any customers who are reading this testimonial and wondering if this company is truly the ‘real deal’… they are. The Grower’s Box is well worth your money. I highly recommend The Grower’s Box.

Best regards,
Jessica

I just want you to know that all of the flowers were put together by myself, my mom, my aunts, and my bridesmaids - none of which have experience with arranging flowers.

Everyday Designing with Online Bulk Flowers

Loco for lilies? Giddy about Gerbera Daisies? Just imagine having hundreds of your favorite flowers at your fingertips…the possibilities are endless! Flowers are perhaps the easiest way to add instant style and flair to any occasion. Whether you are throwing a casual dinner party or a stylish fête, fresh flowers can create just the right ambiance.

But there is nothing worse than having your bouquet wilt after only a few days. Sadly, this is often the case with flowers purchased from the grocery store or even the local wholesaler, cost not withstanding. The flowers are not the problem…it’s the source.

So why settle for days-old flowers when you could brighten up your next event with fresh flowers cut to order and delivered directly to your door for pennies a piece? If you are like most, you never knew you had a choice. Enter The Grower’s Box, a breath of fresh air in today’s floral industry.

Products ordered from The Grower’s Box are much fresher than flowers you would find at your local florist, grocery store or even wholesaler. Each order is placed at the farm level and shipped directly to its final destination - at no point are the flowers warehoused or brokered.

The typical supply chain is as follows… At the end of a flower grower’s day, all previously cut flowers that are not sold directly to major outlets are then shipped to auctions or wholesalers throughout the United States. These are in turn sold to florists and wholesalers who stock them as inventory until they can be sold to consumers. In fact, u sing these traditional distribution channels, it may take up to 15 days for the flowers to get from the grower to you. During this time, the flowers are handled by many different people, and experience a variety of temperature changes. It’s no surprise then that the flowers last only a short time after you bring them home.

The Grower’s Box understands the harvesting, post-harvesting, and shipping processes of fresh-cut flowers, as well as where improvements can be made. Working closely with the best farms and cargo agencies in Central America, South America, and the United States, and having partnered with FedEx, The Grower’s Box is able to ensure fast, safe and secure shipping. Flowers arrive in an early budding stage, and can last up to 2 weeks with proper care.

Unlike traditional wholesalers and retailers, where you are limited to the product that they have in stock at that moment, The Grower’s Box allows you to choose from an unlimited supply of fresh flowers that will be cut to your exact specifications.

Customize your order to reflect your unique personality or special occasion. Gerbera Daisies, which originated in Africa, are vivacious and celebratory and available in a dazzling array of cheerful colors. Lilies, striking and trumpet-shaped, are one of the oldest flowers known to man. Throughout the ages, these have been a popular motif in both religious and secular art, and are sure to add elegance to any event. Snapdragons are old-fashioned favorites native to the Mediterranean, their height adding drama to floral arrangements.

But these are just a few of the many flowers you can choose from. Your selection is limited only by your imagination. Grower’s Box also has experts on hand to help you every step of the way, from selecting the flowers to determining the quantity needed for the size of your event.

Here are just a few examples of events that Grower’s Box can help you plan:

Festive Outdoor Fiesta: Hot pink roses, orange snapdragons, yellow calla lilies and red Gerbera Daisies generate a joyful and exciting environment so that your party continues long into the night.

Elegant Wine and Cheese Affair: Classic white Oriental lilies in simple clear glass vases create a tranquil atmosphere that allows your guests to relax and enjoy the evening.

Casual Dinner Party: Blue delphinium, green Bells of Ireland, and pink spray roses produce a stylish and friendly mood that perfectly complements your good food and spirited conversation.

Bulk wedding flowers from The Grower’s Box = Longer Lasting Flowers

I just wanted to let you know that the bulk Gerbera Daisies I purchased from you for my wedding were absolutely beautiful. When I returned from my honeymoon Sunday night, I found my wedding flower bouquet in a vase still looking great. That was 10 days after receiving my flowers - and with little or no care while my husband and I were gone.

I admit I was nervous about ordering my wedding flowers online, but I couldn’t have been more pleased. Also, your customer service was wonderful! I was amazed at how quickly and thoroughly you responded to my wedding flower questions.

I will recommend The Growers Box in a heartbeat to anyone looking to buy flowers online.

Thank You So Much!

Emily

PETALS, PETALS… PETALS: Success Through Excess

Fresh rose petals really should be used more often – and not just relegated to special occasions… (Champagne too!) Maybe it’s more a matter that we don’t celebrate often enough life events that should be recognized. Bulk flowers from The Grower’s Box make recognizing life events easy - especially our wedding flowers!

Wholesale rose petals should be added to each bulk wedding flower order – whether it’s one of our popular Wedding in–a-Box packages, or making your own wholesale flower selection. You will never have too many rose petals from The Grower’s Box. Sprinkle handfuls on each wedding reception table top, at the guest book table, around the wedding cake… and be sure to save a few handfuls to decorate the honeymoon bedroom! And if you still have left over fresh rose petals – go indulge and sprinkle outside of the wedding reception hall, or outside your own residence for some princess treatment on your very special wedding day!

Fresh rose petals (and all our bulk flower offerings) can be used for more than just weddings. Our bulk rose petals are very popular with event planners – and not only to save a few dollars – most florists simply can’t order in rose petals in the quantities we provide. Businesses small and large have many times ordered rose petals as well. They do so to celebrate store openings, mark the entrance to a big event, and otherwise show their clients the royal treatment.

Our very own launch party made good of our biggest fresh rose petal offering. This big box of bulk rose petals is enough to cover an entire city block! So get some rose petals – and sprinkle liberally… they make especially the perfect out door decorative item because they’re biodegradable.

FLOWER CENTER PIECES: Success Through Excess

This post is a continuation of ‘First Launch / Second Launch’ where Success Through Excess was introduced as a fresh flower design element. These photos were also taken at our original 2004 launch party in San Francisco.

Stumped as to how to make a dramatic statement with a fresh flower arrangement? Does a soaring ceiling or the scale of the event space where you’re throwing your soiree swallow even the biggest florist designed fresh flowers? That’s because you haven’t been designing flowers with The Grower’s Box as your bulk fresh flower supplier. Whether you buy flowers by the bunch or the truck load, The Grower’s Box can meet all your floral needs.

Here’s one such fresh hydrangea arrangement set up at the entrance to our first launch party. This is 2 of our big box of wholesale hydrangea flowers with stems cut at differing lengths and set helter-skelter in a very large glass bowl. Buy a big box of fresh hydrangea to add to one of our other Wedding in-a-Box packages, other flower offerings, or simply on its own for that special occasion.

You can get the glass bowl used in this shot at Pottery Barn here.

You can do similarly with 150-200 roses. Consider similarly arranging at scale fresh bi-color roses. Instead of a traditional green filler, or just roses on their own, place half a dozen flowers of a complimenting color to one of the secondary rose colors. You can see in the below our placing several red dahlias in with a very large vase of bi-color red/yellow roses. Plus you don’t have to keep rose heads on the roses! Where you have extra fresh roses, and for that additional something-something, lay a pile of rose heads at the base of an arrangement. And use several of the heads for the petals to further extend the fresh floral effect outside of the vase.

100-0017_img.JPG

The vase you see in this shot is approx 7.5” diam x 15” height. While this is not available online anywhere, we hope to begin carrying a supplier of high quality flower vases we stumbled upon sourcing you the best in wholesale fresh flowers and online wedding flowers. Are you as tired of those paper-thin vases you end up with from those other online flower retailers? We are…

“If you’re looking to save money on flowers you might want to check out Grower’s Box. Loads of different floral varieties are available in bulk, all waiting to be shipped to your doorstep, all you have to do is arrange them. Granted, not all of us have the time or inclination to create our own flower arrangements. Even if you are hiring a florist, consider supplementing with a box of 10,000 rose petals.”

[FROM LAURA] Pictured Above.
I had a great experience with The Grower’s Box. I decided to take on doing my own flowers for my wedding (I knew what I wanted) and with the help of the folks there I had no problem getting what I needed. The flowers were large and gorgeous, and in perfect bloom on the wedding day, with the help of The Growers Box and their directions which I followed perfectly.

The calla lilies I got from them (60 for $160 or so I believe) were huge and gorgeous. I had ordered from another online flower merchant as well, so that I could get black callas, and these were much smaller, almost twice the price, and LITERALLY disintegrating by my wedding day, as old callas do. I was very disappointed, and even got some of the purple flower goo on my dress. (luckily it came out)

The GB flowers were a perfect contrast to this- sturdy and in perfect bloom. In addition to the callas, which I used for bridesmaid bouquets, I also ordered 40 oriental lilies, and made 10 centerpieces with them in bell jars, for a casual and beautiful look for an outdoor wedding.

Also ordered rose petals, which looked great on the big day.

GROWERSBOX.COM: Second Launch / First Launch

party-pic-name.JPG
This entry is called Second Launch / First Launch… The Grower’s Box launched on the World Wide Web June of 2004. The Grower’s Box is the culmination of several very talented individuals - especially in the field of sourcing the best wholesale flowers in the world - but also web design, technology infrastructure, and marketing. We’re very excited to release this new site to our customers for their greater online shopping experience. Expect many more innovations around sourcing fresh florals from us going forward! Leave us a comment or write us directly anytime - we love hearing from customers.

The photos in this entry - and the ones that will be shared in the next few days - have never been seen, but really showcase not only our premium wholesale flowers, but present a design element for event flower display that we believe firmly in at The Grower’s Box - success through excess!

These photos were taken at 111 Minna in San Francisco, CA where we held a function to celebrate our debut on the web. 111 Minna is an art gallery / event space with soaring ceilings and a spacious warehouse-feeling interior. …no easy feat to make fresh flower arrangements to meet the demands of such a space! Fresh wholesale flowers from The Grower’s Box is just the right touch to make your event magical…

[WALL PROJECTION] To really grab attention, make an inverse photo copy of your logo or image onto a transparency sheet and project with an overhead on a large blank wall. For the more technologically savvy you could make a slide - like in Power Point - and use a projector to display on a wall. The latter affords you to hide more discretely the source of the image - where an overhead projector invites party-goers to make finger puppets and otherwise play with their projector =)
