Every year new trends emerge in the floral industry. This year we have been pleasantly surprised to see a significant increase in sales of freeze dried rose petals! These beautiful petals are not only being used for weddings and events, but hotels, spas, resorts, and restaurants have taken akin to the freeze dried rose petals for added decor and ambiance!

Hotels & Hospitality: In just the first few months of this year we have shipped a large amount of freeze dried rose petals to hotels and other businesses throughout the hospitality industry. Some of our customers have indicated that they have begun to offer ‘honeymoon packages’ where the room is transformed into an intimate setting with the mere dimming of lights and the sprinkling of rose petals in the bedroom and bathroom.

Resorts & Spas: Resorts and spas have also been quick to pick up on the trend of freeze dried rose petals. The longevity of these petals allows these establishments to create a peaceful and relaxing environment for their customers that requires little maintenance. Both of the varieties measure about 24 inches in length, both are available year-round, and both have green ‘blooms’ that measure about 5 inches in diameter. The centerpieces for the tables at our reception were breathtaking! The sales rep that I spoke to suggested ideas to make the centerpieces look grand and airy, yet classy and elegant. The guests loved the centerpieces and some fortunate guests were able to take the centerpieces home. Everything that we had pictured came alive on our big day.

Last year we received many requests for different types of Eucalyptus. This year we are pleased to announce that we now offer 3 different varieties of Eucalyptus: Baby Eucalyptus, Seeded Eucalyptus, and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus:

Baby Eucalyptus:

Description: Baby Eucalyptus is a VERY unique filler that stands over 24 inches tall. It is very fragrant and is best characterized by its round shaped leaves, thick stems, and its blue/green/gray coloration.

Availability: Baby Eucalyptus is available year-round from our flower farms.

Seeded Eucalyptus:

Description: Seeded Eucalyptus is one of the more popular varieties of Eucalyptus. It is best known for its silver/gray/green leaves and its immature flower pods that appear at the end of the stems, and it usually stands between 12 and 20 inches in length.

Availability: Seeded Eucalyptus is available from August through May.

Silver Dollar Eucalyptus:

Description: Silver Dollar Eucalyptus is also one of the more popular varieties of Eucalyptus in the floral industry. It stands around 24 inches in height and is best identified by its round leaves that are silver/blue/gray in color.

Availability: Silver Dollar Eucalyptus is available year-round from our flower farms.

Availability: Lisianthus is available year-round from our flower farms in California. In the fall, winter, and spring it is grown in greenhouses, and in the summer months it is grown in the fields.

Description: Lisianthus is best characterized by its green foliage and blooms which some say resemble that of a rose. The blooms measure between 2 and 3 inches in diameter, and customers can select from a variety of different colors to have included in their package. Each stem is host to multiple beautiful blooms.

Larkspur:

Availability: Larkspur is also available year-round from our flower farms in Southern California.

Description: Larkspur is best known for its green foliage with colorful spikes of flowers stemming from it. The spikes average between 8 and 16 inches in length and can be found cropping up in a number of different bright and beautiful colors.
